Wow that link you put there for dapreview had three trojans on its site. Luckily my Nod 32 antivirus protected me from it. I was looking at Cowon and Archos seemed to be the best options. But the best option is the Tvisto if only they made it with a little LCD screen too, and gave a little Ipod music category interface it would be the best portable mp3/divx player out there with 720p output support and for less than a Cowon or Archos. 06-21-07, 08:42 PM #4 | Link ujay New Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Posts: 6 Creative Zen specs When I say native Divx I'm referring to popular official release Divx/Xvid torrent dvdrips. Can you drag and drop these into your Creative Zen and it will play without converting it? What about output to TV? What resolution would this output at? What about Srt subtitle support? Also the Mp3 music does it compress it all? try to convert it into its own format, or just play it back natively at the Mp3 bitrate it was recorded with? If it was recorded at variable bit rate will I hear it played back at that bit rate or crappy 128bps like Ipod does. When I insert my USB thumb drive directly into the USB port of my Car radio it will play Mp3 music back at the bitrate it was recorded with, and will also play the Divx files directly off the USB drive onto it's LCD screen. Can creative Zen do the same? No conversions. No meddling with the original source. Example divx stats below: Would it play this Divx natively or does it require software to convert it like Ipod does. Here's what I got: Aigo STP802 80GB MP3 MP4 FM DivX LCD Media Player $549.77 Archos 404 30GB Portable Digital Media Player brand new $250.00 NEW COWON JETAUDIO IAUDIO A2 WHITE 30GB MP3 PLAYER $309.00 These all seem to have native Mp3 and Divx playback with no silly conversions. Why the hell doesn't apple do this for the same price is beyond me. I could give a siht for Itunes, Rhapsody, or any paid subscriptions services when I can get it all with torrents better quality and better faster distribution system. So anyone got some more Mp3 players to add to the list? Seriously Ipod stinks, man. 128kb/s compressions and forced to use Itunes software and be bombarded with subscription services you got to be kidding. Plus no Native Divx. What portable Mp3 players with at least 30GB support native Mp3 playback without doing their stupid conversions like Ipod and Zune does. When you burn a Data CD with high quality variable bit rates in the 256 to 300 rate I want to be able to hear it playback at the same bitrate with no conversions, no Itunes, no WMA meddling with it. What's a list of portable players that can do that? And are thee any that can support Native Divx playback? I don't get why this hasn't been done from the beginning. Seems every company insists on converting your music and video to their format before you can play it back. I been looking at a few players like Sony NWHD3 but the prices are absurd. I don't understand why a Tvisto only costs $200 with 320GB capacity which plays Mp3 music and divx natively directly to your TV. If that gadget could work like an Ipod with a little screen to boot, make it smaller and less storage it would be the perfect IPOD killer. Is there any new gadget that maybe exists like this that I haven't heard of yet? I'm looking for a $220 or less portable native Mp3 player with 30GB that I can plug into my Zvox to enhance the sound. Could someone please point me to nice detailed lists of people's current HTPC parts, price, and DIY instructions. What motherboard, processor, audio and video card should I get now in July 2007 from newegg to be able to build and hook up my HTPC to play high end PC Games, and the usual fare of Divx and the higher resolution X264 as well as HD DVD in the near future and output this all to a a 720p DLP projector with 5.1 surround sound in another room. Is it possible to also make a HTPC play Xbox 360 games? I'm assuming all I need for this is an equivalent video card right? And some type of simulator that must exist and then my PC will work as if it were an Xbox so I could play games on the big projected screen. What about wireless controllers ? If the media center were in another room. How would you get that to work?
